Baseball Charities
Baseball Assistance Team - Helps members of the baseball family who have come on hard times and are in need of assistance. The baseball family includes former players, both from the Major and Minor Leagues, former Negro League players, umpires, and team personnel. B.A.T. recognizes that "events and circumstances can become difficult and trying when the cheering ends," and aims to alle viate financial and medical hardships faced by former players. Catch 22 - Provides a place to play baseball for handicapped kids. Pujols Family Foundation - Promotes awareness, provide hope and meet tangible needs for families and children who live with Down syndrome. Boys And Girls Clubs - Offer adult care or supervision, recreation and companionship. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation - Helps to build character and teach critical life lessons to disadvantaged young people residing in America’s most distressed communities through baseball and softball themed programs. Pitch In For Baseball - Spreads America's pastime to kids all over the world by collecting and delivering new and gently-used youth baseball and softball equipment to underserved communities around the globe. Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities - A volunteer organization comprised of former and current professional athletes, members of the Chicago sports media and the corporate community to raise money forcancer patient care, education and research. Arizona Baseball Charities - Organized to help Arizona children reach their full potential through sports by providing needed financial assistance to youth sports programs and charitable organizations throught the state. The Jackie Robinson Foundation - Perpetuates the legacy of Jackie Robinson by providing college scholarships for minority youths. The Jimmy Fund - The official charity of the Boston Red Sox. The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world. The Jorge Posada Foundation - Established by New York Yankees' All Star Catcher Jorge Posada and his wife Laura to help families with children who suffer from craniosysnostosis. The Moyer Foundation - The Moyer Foundation was established by Karen and Jamie Moyer to offer encouragement, comfort and support to children and families enduring a time of profound distress and to provide opportunities for enhancing overall wellness, stability and quality of life. The Roberto Clemente Foundation - Founded in 1993 by Roberto Clemente Jr., eldest son of baseball's "The Great One" Roberto Clemente, reaches out to disadvantaged The Teammates for Kids Foundation - Co-founded in 1999 by Garth Brooks, exists to develop Turn 2 Foundation - New York Yankee Derek Jeter's foundation focused on helping youths maintain a healthy lifestyle. |
